In Canggu, every day becomes a new adventure, if you plan your trip before and pick the right spots for you. Whether you’re into surfing, eating, or just chilling, there’s something here for everyone.
#1. Try Surfing at Echo Beach
The first place I want to add to the list is surfing at Echo Beach. Echo Beach in Canggu is famous for its thrilling surf and it is perfect for experienced surfers with its powerful waves and shallow reef.
If you’re new, try a surf camp or lesson to learn the ropes. The Echo Beach has stunning black sand and great sunset views.
If you are looking for staying options, there are many budget-friendly options available like Surf Lodge Canggu. If you need more fancy and luxury options try Frii Bali Echo Beach Hotel.
#2. Visit the Tanah Lot Temple
The next and the most important place to explore is “Tanah Lot Temple”. The Temple is a sacred place and if you want to explore the culture and traditions of Indonesia, I would suggest visiting the Tanah Lot Temple.
Besides, from a religious perspective, the Temple provides a serene atmosphere and stunning views, particularly at sunset. It is also a great spot for photography, especially during the golden hour for soft lighting.
It’s about a 30-minute drive from Canggu. Make sure to dress respectfully and cover yourself while visiting the Temple. Nearby, you can also visit Pura Batu Bolong and local markets. Get up early in the morning for your visit to avoid crowds and fully appreciate the temple’s tranquility and beauty.
#3. Enjoy Delicious Food at The Shady Shack
Next, head over to The Shady Shack in Canggu for a delicious and healthy, vegetarian, and vegan option. The Shady Shack was started as Betelnut café and now is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors.
It is open every day from 8 am to 10 pm, you can enjoy everything from breakfast to vegan desserts. It’s just a short ride from central Canggu. You don’t need to book, but it’s best to go early to get a good seat.
Expect to spend about $10-$15 per person for a big, tasty meal. Make sure to try it out for a fresh and flavorful dining experience!
#4. Experience G Swing & Beach Clubs
Next in Canggu, kick off your adventure at G Swing Bali. Here, you’ll swing at breathtaking speeds with amazing sunset views. It’s open from noon to midnight for an adrenaline-packed experience.
After that, chill at beach clubs like La Brisa or The Lawn, perfect for relaxing with great views. For a lively evening, Old Man’s is the place to be. It’s the perfect mix of thrill and chill in Canggu.
#5. Do Some Shopping at The Love Anchor Canggu Market
Next, visit Love Anchor Canggu Bazaar. It is right in the center of Canggu. Love Anchor Canggu is a big market open every day where you can shop for clothes, jewelry, and cool things for your home. On weekends, it’s even busier with more things to see and buy.
You’ll find Love Anchor easily in Canggu. Just walk in and start exploring. You’ll meet lots of people, find neat stuff, and really feel the vibe of Bali.
Love Anchor is a great place to experience the local shopping scene, doesn’t matter if you’re looking for a little souvenir or just want to look around.
#6. Take a Yoga Class in Canggu Bali
After exploring the markets, you might need some rest. I recommend taking a yoga class in Canggu, which offers studios for all levels.
Joga Yoga is a well-known studio, and then there’s Samadi Bali, offering a variety of classes, sound healing, and meditation. These yoga sessions will soothe your pain and rejuvenate you for another day of exploring Canggu.
#7. Explore the ALLCAPS Open Air Gallery
After relaxing yourself with yoga sessions, explore ALLCAPS Park. It will be a great experience if you love graffiti and street art. The ALLCAPS have over 40 murals, a vibrant showcase of global talent.
The Gallary opens Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm and Sunday until 5 pm, it’s an easy addition to your Canggu itinerary. You’ll see stunning works, catch a festival, or join a workshop. It’s a refreshing change of pace and a unique way to experience Canggu’s creative side.
#8. Horse Riding in Canggu Bali
Next, enjoy horse riding in Canggu at Royal Sporthorse Bali. Near Nelayan Beach, they offer beach rides and lessons for everyone. Kids will love the pony camps, where they learn about caring for horses.
Ride along the beach or through the village for a unique experience. It’s a friendly place, like a second home, where you can relax and connect with nature. It is a peaceful way to see Canggu’s beauty.
#9. Catch The Sunrise at Mount Batur
If you love Trekking or hiking, try the Mount Batur sunrise trek in Bali. It’s a rewarding hike up an active volcano, ending with stunning sunrise views.
Dress warmly and wear good shoes. It’s a two-hour climb, so bring water and a snack. Tours often include a relaxing hot spring visit afterward. This early morning adventure is a magical way to start your day and see Bali from above.
#10. Take a Day Trip to Ubud to See the Rice Terraces
Lastly, plan a day trip to the Tegalalang Rice Terrace near Ubud. Tegalalang Rice Terrace is a UNESCO-certified site. It has the most beautiful terraced rice fields in Bali.
For the best green views, go in March, August, or September. Take a peaceful walk, snap some photos, and enjoy lunch with a view at a local café.
